The Pilgrims' Crozier was specially commissioned to celebrate EAA Glasgow 2015.

Sculptor and silversmith John Creed created The Pilgrim’s Crozier which will be featured in the EAA Opening Ceremony. Later it will be exhibited at the Hunterian Art Gallery in connection with The Cradle of Scotland.

Formed from stone, bronze and iron the Crozier represents  a walk through the three ages of archaeology; a staff to guide guests at the Conference and people in Scotland towards the riches of Scotland’s archaeological inheritance.

Amongst other archaeological instruments, John Creed previously re-created The Deskford Carnyx which is housed in the Museum of Scotland. If you'd like to know more about carnyces, who makes them, and how, click here.
